In 1874 it became clear that foggy San Francisco Bay needs a lighthouse. East Brother Island seemed to be the right place to built one, so government used dynamite to level the island. East Brother Light Station warned brave sailors until 1971. Since then the building is used as unique hotel, where you can spend a night!
Besides comfortable beds you'll find here best views to San Francisco Bay. Of course you can explore the little island, or join one of many tours run by volounteers.
