This island was used by coconut indutstry before it's collapsing in 1970's. That left the island with partially collapsed ecosystem and a lot of work to do. It took some time before this beautiful place was turned to paradise once again. Conservation efforts got rid of the rodents and feral animals like cats, goats and cattle. All were transported back from the island. Now numbers of native plants, birds and nestling turtles are rising.
