Developed by Ian Koblick and Dr. Neil Monney, pioneers with over 50 years of combined ocean research experience, Jules’ Undersea Lodge honors the legacy of Jules Verne. 

Originally the La Chalupa research lab (made from sunken boat) and today Jules’ Undersea Lodge, offers an authentic underwater habitat experience. Located in a mangrove lagoon, it serves as a natural nursery for reef fish and an artificial reef enhancing marine life. It is the first and only underwater hotel accessible by scuba diving, blending comfort with a rich history.

The lodge is entirely underwater, supported by legs above the lagoon floor. Enter through a moon pool, surfacing in the wet room where divers leave their gear. The air-conditioned living space includes two private bedrooms, a common room with a galley, dining, and entertainment areas. Each room features a large window offering  underwater views.

While under, you can stay connected with WiFi, and share your unique experience with family and friends. Enjoy unlimited water, soda, iced tea, and snacks, with a pizza dinner delivered between in the afternoon!

If you're worried about the safety, you can rest assured that lodge is monitored from the land-based Command Center, the lodge is connected by an umbilical cable providing fresh air, water, power, and communications. Staff are available 24/7, ensuring a safe and exciting stay. Luxury packages include gourmet meals prepared by a “mer-chef” who scuba dives to the hotel, making special occasions unforgettable.
