Located on the bank of the Nile river, unique Old Cataract Hotel is a legend in Egypt. You’ll have a chance to sleep in the same rooms as Winston Churchill, Jimmy Carter, Margaret Thatcher, Princess Diana, and Queen Noor.
Agatha Christie who’s novel ‘Death on the Nile’ is taking place in the hotel also stayed here. Famous screen adaptation of the same book was also shot here (when Karnak departs from hotel).
Original Old Cataract Hotel was built in 1899 by Thomas Cook. In 1961 additional wing was added and during recent three-year refurbishment that ended in 2011 everything was connected into one.
